2022 DISTRICT MEETINGS

The District Meetings will be held for BENCO Electric Cooperative members in Districts 2, 6 and 8 on January 5, 6 and 7, 2022, respectively.

Members living in these districts are welcome to attend their meeting where the sole purpose will be to choose a nominee(s) for Director of the Association, to be certified as such to the Annual Meeting of the Members of the Association.

Members living in the following areas are considered members of District 2 and may vote at the district meeting: the townships of Granby, Courtland, Oshawa, Nicollet and Belgrade, and the City of North Mankato in Nicollet County. The District 2 Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the North Mankato Fire Station #2 Community Room in North Mankato.

Members living in the following areas are considered members of District 6 and may vote at the district meeting: the townships of Lincoln, Garden City, Ceresco, Vernon Center, Pleasant Mound and Shelby in Blue Earth County; the cities of Amboy and Vernon Center in Blue Earth County; and the townships of Madeline, Fieldon and Antrim in Watonwan County. The District 6 Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Garden City Community Room in Garden City.

Members living in the following areas are considered members of District 8 and may vote at the district meeting: the townships of Winnebago, Delavan, Verona, Prescott, Jo Davies, Blue Earth, Pilot Grove, Elmore and Rome in Faribault County; the cities of Winnebago, Delavan and Elmore in Faribault County and the part of the City of Frost in Rome Township in Faribault County; and the townships of Westford and Nashville in Martin County. The District 8 Meeting will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the BENCO Faribault County Outpost in Blue Earth.

Nominating committees for District 2, 6 and 8 met in November. The candidates to come forward to the District Meetings from the Nominating Committee Meetings are: District 2 - Don Westphalia, Incumbent; District 6 - Blake Meshke, Incumbent; and District 8 - Duane Ehrich, Incumbent, and David Lein.

Candidates may also be nominated from the floor at the District Meeting. Once a member registers at the meeting that member may vote.
